I'm a huge fan of elden ring and I wanted to recreate a vfx of the final boss fight but with my own mark, much more stylised and made more for a top down view (See below for 3rd and top down view)

Anticipation:
4 rotating's runic circle gradually appears on the ground and in the sky, with a erosion material to reveal it. (runic circle texture-dissolve material for rune)
Pieces of the circle fall and float in the sky. (falling scrap texture)
The circle shrinks to signal an impending explosion. (ground sphere explosion material)
Climax:
The rotating's runic circle is replaced with a more emissive and fix version that slowly dissolves over time. (runic circle texture-dissolve material for rune)
A sphere with a Fresnel and noise material create a blast effect at it's center. (ground sphere explosion material)
Fragments of the circles explode into the sphere and the sky. (falling scrap texture)
Aftermath:
Runes appears on the ground after the explosion and slowly fades away.
All remnants of the runes dissolve into the sky
